#the-client

diamonds, without the showroom.

Diavaia sells natural and lab-grown diamonds online, mainly to buyers in the United States and Canada, with delivery to more than 29 countries. Every stone is certified by GIA or IGI, and most come with ASET images that show how well the diamond handles light.

The brand wanted the trust and personal service of a jewelry store, on a website that can hold a catalog no showroom could fit.

#the-problem

a million stones, one nervous buyer.

  1. 01Too much inventory to searchMore than a million diamonds, each with a dozen attributes. A normal database query made buyers wait every time they moved a filter.
  2. 02Stock that changes by the hourDiamonds come from suppliers and sell elsewhere too. Showing a stone that is already gone loses the sale and the buyer's trust.
  3. 03Big purchases need trustNobody spends thousands of dollars on a stone they cannot see. Certificates, ASET images and a secure checkout had to sit right next to the price.
#the-solution

find it, compare it, buy it.

We built the store front in Astro, so pages load fast and rank well, and ran search on DuckDB, a database built for scanning large tables quickly. Buyers pick a shape, then narrow 1.3 million stones by carat, cut, color, clarity and price, with results that update as they go.

A sync job pulls the supplier feed every 45 minutes into DuckDB for search and PostgreSQL for orders, so prices and availability stay current. The Diavaia team manages pages, the Vault and guides in Payload CMS, and checkout runs on Authorize.net.

#client-says
“A million diamonds used to be our biggest selling point and our biggest headache. Now buyers filter the whole catalog in a blink, every stone they see is actually in stock, and HEZ shipped it all in two months.”
